Have you ever tried to do something that you haven't tried before? Did it ever work?
For example have you ever tried just kicking a habit that you had been stuck with for a long time? Not just tapering it off but just changing like *snap* cold turkey?
Like one day you just stop having caffeine, or start going to the gym, or stop watching that Godawful indian drama series that your mom insists on watching everyday, or sometimes just stop interacting with those people who have become bad habits?
I did exactly this last Thursday. After months of a friend being rude and using me, I just stopped talking to them. It was hard at first, but it's been a week and I feel okay. Sometimes you just gotta bite the bullet and cut people loose.

Habits can be easily changed if you have enough determination. But with people, you need to be more sublte. Even giving it a week will be enough. Just busy yourself with something or the other. Isolation works too. But temporary isolation.

@Experiment House: It's true, it really is like biting a bullet. Especially when you have very strong, and very confused feelings for that person even when you know that they are all wrong for you. :S
